I enjoy watching Stargate Universe and I am glad it is back. Stargate Universe is similar to the wildly popular shows Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis in some ways, but is very much its own show. For those who know of the other two series but not Stargate Universe the similarity to the other shows is that as the name infers there is a stargate, device that travels between worlds, on this show. That is where the similarities end.
The cast of Stargate Universe is stuck on a space ship, named Destiny, made by the ancients. This ship is traveling though space countless light-years from earth toward the outside side of the Universe . To complicate matters they are two far from earth to dial home and have very limited control of the ship. Stargate Universe is more character driven than the previous Stargates were. The captain is incompetent and a jar head, but is still in charge. Rush the science offer despises the captain and wants to be in charge but they need one another. Other smaller characters are always falling in love or in fights making for drama. I think this show has something for everyone. This show has the fighting and space travel for the guys and the emotional story that keeps my wife into it.
