My favorite Bible Story

When I was in grade school, we had a book that featured a story about the Good Samaritan. I was just interested on the picture illustrated in that page and I did not understand much the whole context. For me, it was just about helping the beggar. As I visit the web on the story about Good Samaritan, it was then that I understand fully the whole selection. The man in the story is a Jew, walking along the road from Jerusalem heading to Jericho when suddenly a group of men jumped out from behind a hill. They took all his belongings and tore off most of his clothes. They didn't want him to follow them so they beat him up very badly, and left him lying and bleeding on the side of the road.

The thing that surprised me was when the priest walking down the same path and did not care to help him and the same thing happened to a Levite (Levites were people that assisted priests with their work) man walking down the road. But the Samaritan came, he went over to him and felt compassion for him. He put bandages on his sores and poured oil and wine on the sores to prevent them from getting worse.

One thing you should know about Samaritans is that Jews didn't like them. Jews usually didn't treat Samaritans very well, so they never got along. The man who was dying on the road was a Jew and the Samaritan had compassion and helped him.

This story tells us that we should always love one another regardless of what their status in the society. (Luke 10:27) And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Unforgettable Theater Church Experience

I was a church goer before 2002. I did not miss every opportunity to attend the holy mass Every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon. I also attended every celebration of church like the whole October month, December and March. I loved going to church to hear the words of God, praising, worshipping, joining community singing, meeting new people and exchanging "peace be with you".

One day, I was invited to attend a church theater. I was amazed by the church auditorium seating that conforms to my worship needs. The furnishings added elegance, comfortable, quiet and as dignified as the church setting itself.

People of all ages were gathered for worship, prayer, stories, Bible teaching and to support each other as a community. The church community offered the opportunity to experience unique cultural events and share, to themselves expressing their individual creativity through various forms of arts using innovative technology.

In a church theater (Find out more ...), the speaker enhances the educational and entertainment value of his/her presentation with the big screen stadium seating, high –resolution digital projection and crystal clear audio. People received lectures and messages from the speaker more effectively that motivates them to be attentive, not sleepy, bored until the end of the session.

In order to experience what church theater feels like, you can Find out more and attend the first-ever inaugural Theatre Church Conference in Silver Spring, MD on October 22 & 23 from CineMeetings & Events, a division of National CineMedia.
