Aloha Camping

Camping is an outdoor recreational activity shared and enjoyed by many. It gets us away from our busy life.

Decide what are the camping destinations you like to stay and prepare lists to bring for a specific number of days to stay. Having the necessary supplies and equipment can make a difference in your overall enjoyment and experience.

Living in a tent in a camp is a wonderful and unforgetable experience in life of those who had camping and those who wanted to try something new.

My fiance likes camping much and we did three times but twice in same location in YMCA Camp Slogget, Kokee, Kauai, HI. It was really a great adventure for family.

I’ve learned lessons every camping experience. Once you have tried it, when you are already in the camp site you will feel the need and of every single thing that are missing in your camping preparation. Every one has unique needs and you will know it once you have tried to camp out.

I can share two tips for now:

  1. If you camp out in the wild, be sure to check your car, we forgot to check the car’s water and we stop in the middle of the mountain about 7 more miles for the destination, so we ask help for every car that passed on the road for water. lol.

  2. Always have extra for everything.

Happy camping!

Camping Recipe

Planning a great recipes for camping is an excellent idea to enjoy camping. Categorize your recipes into the following:

beverages
desserts
foil cooking
grill recipes
snacks ideas
main dishes
soups
vegetebles

Once you have it categorized, talk to your family and any member in your group that will join the camping as talk about what to bring in every category.

Some camping recipes to enjoy:

Breakfast Burritos:

1 lb. breakfast sausage.

10-14 eggs (depending on how man people you have to feed)

Flour tortillas,

shredded cheddar or jack cheese,

salsa

Brown sausage and drain fat. Beat eggs in a bowl and add to sausage. Cook eggs through. Heat tortillas over the flame and fill to your liking!
We also make french toast, pancakes (Biscuit in the plastic container - just add water and bacon.

Lunch/DinnerTaco Salad:

1 lb. ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

1 small or medium can of Ranch Style Beans

Fritos, Doritos or other

corn chipshredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream, salsa,…

Brown ground beef and drain fat. Add taco seasoning and beans; heat through. Serve over chips and garnish with everything else.

Foil Dinners:(per person)1 boneless skinless chicken breast2 slices yellow or red onionsliced assorted vegetables (We like fresh green beans, mushrooms, zucchini, and potatoes.)
You can put all ingredients in one large foil pouch, or everyone can make their own in small pouches.

Season meat and veggies. Layer everything in the foil pouch, starting and ending with the onions. (The onions keep the other food from sticking to the foil and from getting charred if the coals are too hot. Just tell the kids they don’t have to eat them.) Add a little butter to the pouch and fold up to seal. Place in hot coals for about 20-25 or until the chicken is cooked through.
