Air France has told families of passengers on Flight 447 that the jetliner broke apart and they must abandon hope that anyone survived.

The plane broke apart either in the air or when it slammed into the ocean, carrying 228 people disappeared after leaving Rio de Janeiro for Paris on Sunday night.

Investigators were relying heavily on the plane's automated messages to help reconstruct what happened to the jet as it flew through towering thunderstorms. The messages detail a series of failures that end with its systems shutting down, suggesting the plane broke apart in the sky according to an aviation industry official with knowledge of the investigation.

Air France is the deadliest plane crash, and world's worst commercial air accident since 2001.

The Techi-holics Fam

When I was teaching, my co-teachers often called me a techi-holic. I was one of the Innovative teachers awardee way back 2004-2005 and part of the award and program was to mentor teachers in integrating Information and Communication Technology in Basic Education. Using laptop, PC, LCD multi-media projector and other gadgets in the classroom was a part of my teaching aids. But when I met my husband, I told myself that he is more techi-holic than me. He has all technology gadgets, from PC, digicam, camcorders, e-books, Wii fit, name it and he is updated and he have tried most of the latest tech. He even sold some online.

I got this from The Garden Island Newspaper, The State and Federal officials announced that tourist from South Korea can start arriving in the U.S. under the new visa-waiver program starting November 17, 2008.

All a South Korean traveler will have to do is carry a new passport, which is bar-coded for identification, and then register for travel authorization online.

South Korean citizens maybe travelling for business or pleasure, but mus carry a round trip ticket or a ticket that takes them to another country and may not spend more than 90 days in the U.S.

Hawaii Tourism Authority has already stepped up marketing efforts in South Korea and now has a Korean Language Website through Hawaii Tourism Korea.

RealAge Issue

I took the RealAge Test about two months ago although I was not motivated to do so. I was thinking that it was not true and it would just add spam in my emails. But as I kept on answering each item, it keeps me going until I finally complete that test.

iLASIK and LASIK Usage in the DOD and NASA

The NASA and US military personnel highly recommended using laser vision correction for the effectiveness of their personnel. One can't be working in NASA having a vision problem. Wearing contact lenses or eyeglasses is not enough to be able to effectively correct eye vision. “The DOD and NASA have validated the fact that today’s LASIK exceeds all established standards of safety and effectiveness,” said Steven Schallhorn, M.D., a retired U.S. Navy captain and leader of clinical research and studies done for the DOD regarding the use of LASIK.

iLASIK™ Procedure is called the modern LASIK which uses two lasers instead of one. In the first stage of iLASIK, wave-front technology maps the unique characteristics of the individual’s eyes. Then, an ultrafast, computer-guided laser creates a corneal flap. This laser replaces the handheld microkeratome blade used in older forms of LASIK and makes the procedure exceptionally safe. My husband benefited this new LASIK technology. He has an involuntary eyelid blinking called Blepharospasm (pronounced "bla-for-o-spaz-m"). It is the name for a condition in which the eye blinks excessively and involuntarily. It usually occurs in persons in their 50's or 60's, and to women more commonly than men. I had witnessed how he feels uncomfortable every time his eyes are closing especially if he is driving. That is also one reason that I really tried my very best to learn how to drive.

iLASIK is much cheaper than getting glasses. After two years, we saved money.

This lady has changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit cards, wallet, etc... was stolen twenty minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay from a pay phone telling telling him what had happened, hubby says, 'I've just received your text asking about our Pin number and I replied a little while ago.'

When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from her bank.

Moral of the lesson:
Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc.... And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through text, CONFIRM by calling back. Also, when you get a text from friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them, be careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.
